The team consisted of the Senior Producer, Creative Director, and me. We had to deliver the final Discover stories on a tight timeline. After the photoshoots and influencer interviews had been completed—I jumped in to provide finalized story drafts within 48 hours for feedback. Ensuring we delivered on time, I researched product descriptions, read through influencer interviews to center their voices, and selected pull quotes. I aligned the copy with previously selected photos, understanding the Nike tone of voice and character count limitations in the Nike app. I kept the influencer voices front and center and highlighted the Jordan Brand apparel—writing stories that captured their customer’s love of the clothes and the spirit of Jordan Brand.

Copywrote Nike Jordan in-app Discover Stories threads highlighting Jordan Flight Essentials, and streetwear style in Chicago — women and men — and Atlanta — women and men — and a women’s thread featuring LA street style.

We needed to develop a registration website, the day-of-event broadcast site, emails, internal communications, and on-site signage. Since we were returning to in-person, it was critical to clearly communicate to investors the benefits of traveling to the Intuit campus and consistently distinguish between in-person and virtual attendees.

Working closely with the Investor Relations Specialist, Investor Relations Communications team, the BSX Editor, Strategists, and Senior Product Designer, we strategized to determine the ideal user experience for both in-person and virtual experience— including overall comms strategy leading up to the event from registration to day-of event broadcast website and copy for on-site presentation motion graphics and directional signage.

Brookes' hired me to help write copy and direct a marketing campaign, streamline their brand story, and further develop their brand voice for their website copy. Brookes also utilized the copy for her social and newsletter marketing campaign to promote the launch of her new line of straw hats.

I updated the brand story and studio description for Brookes Boswell hats and her hand-blocking studio. Then, I dove into the straw hat process and the rich history and craft of toquilla straw artisans through research and interviewing Brookes—to write the introduction for her new Ecuador collection and a journal entry about Brookes’ travels to Ecuador.

I also help to create her customer email flows in klaviyo.

I joined the all-volunteer run event team in 2018 as a copywriter/editor. I copyedited workshop and event descriptions received from participating organizations for the DWP website, and co-created social amplification posts in real-time during the week of events.

The grant deliverable was to develop a story bank and communications toolkit to educate legislators about the benefits of home visiting programs and secure funding. I researched to understand home visiting programs and coordinate with program leaders across the state to learn about their services, capacity, challenges/needs, and document their input for key decision-makers.

I conducted client interviews to create emotionally moving testimonials to develop an internal story bank and documented interviews with program directors across Oregon to present reports and findings to policymakers.

The home-visiting communications toolkit included a media list, advocacy contacts, social media, and newsletter templates for Oregon programs across the state.

During my time there I went beyond my role to help facilitate a redesign of the Oregon Foster Youth conference logo—hiring a freelance designer to update their branding.

To help facilitate communication for an environmental campaign and contribute to successful public relations strategies, I helped reframe Appalachia coal-mining issues for the Director of Communications of RM through research and media assessment.

During my brief time as a fellow on the communications team, I wrote articles and social media posts for national organizations, and built a nonprofit digital communications toolkit that included writing an article about Hurricane Sandy as Instagram’s watershed moment in 2012.
