Stop Telling Mothers They Don’t “Need” to Work, Harper’s BAZAAR, 2017

In October 2016, after my project for Children First ended, I was talking with a close friend about being stressed about finding work with a 7 month old baby. She said, “but you don’t have to work” and I passionately reacted to her response. My friend, who is the Senior Digital Editor for Harper’s Bazaar contacted me in January and asked me to write an article from my perspective. I didn’t want the story to be focused on me, so I chose to interview career driven women, who despite not “having to work” or single moms who do have to work to put food on the table, choose to pursue their careers and passions regardless of obstacles and becoming mothers made this ambition stronger.
